Oh hi, I’m Jackie E. Davis and it looks like you’ve managed to find this little corner of the Internet. Welcome!

After getting an undergrad degree in illustration and wandering the Creative Desert for many years, (while paying my bills as a barista) I fell in love with comics. I started Underpants and Overbites in 2016, often posting comics from the bathroom of my coffee shop. After being confronted by a manager about my poor work ethic, I went full time in October of 2017. I’ve been doing it ever since!

I live in Rochester, NY with my husband Pat. He’s the tired purple character in my comics. He was born tired, but is made even more tired by his job as a pre K through 2nd grade art teacher. That’s where we get our sweet sweet healthcare (and sometimes little cookies from the teacher’s lounge). Thanks Pat!

I love my job so much and feel so lucky to be able to do this full time. I’m very unmotivated when something doesn’t interest me (I have no idea how I made it through school. Just the thought of it now makes me itchy), so it feels amazing to do what I love, with only Butter Udder as my boss. I love it as much today as the day I started. And I’m here in my little studio typing this all thanks to you.

When I’m not scribbling (or fixing my accidental tax crimes), I love being in nature, hanging with friends, biking around, snuffling through thrift stores, reading, cooking vats of soup for a hoard, and napping. And sewing up Butter Udder of course. That’s a quarterly event - gotta make her last.
